Consortium

The EUSECON consortium includes a diverse group of project institutions. The consortium is dedicated to analyzing the economic implications of security policies and to generating policy-relevant knowledge that will improve policy-making in the European Union. Specifically, the partners are involved in tasks such as investigating the costs and benefits of security policies in terms of reduced terrorism or crime incidence, limitations in civil liberties, and economic costs for particular groups and states within the EU.

Project Coordination and Management
EUSECON is managed by the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). The project coordinator is Professor Tilman Brück, Head of the Department of International Economics at DIW Berlin, Assistant Professor of Development Economics at Humboldt University Berlin, and co-founder and co-director of the Households in Conflict Network (HiCN).
